Lancaster Living Poetry Museum II set for May
LANCASTER, Pa., April 14, 2026 – Following National Poetry Month, Lancaster will celebrate the art ofpoetry by presenting the Lancaster Living Poetry Museum II. The event will be staged twice, first as part of First Friday festivities on May 1 from 6 to 10 p.m., with an encore on Saturday, May 2.
Sixteen performers will embody poets and musicians at four downtown venues throughout the city in one-person shows that provide education and entertainment to audiences free of charge.
On First Friday, performers will bring poets to life at four locations:
- Lancaster Public Library – Boardroom, 6 to 6:45 p.m.
- Carol Allen as William Shakespeare
- PAN as Amelia Earhart
- Lee Morr as Shel Silverstein
- Coral Rites as Andrea Gibson
- Lancaster Art Vault – Main Gallery, 7 to 7:45 p.m.
- Maria Thompson-Corley as Lucille Clifton
- Malia Burris as Noʻu Revilla
- Bronte Spidaliere as Louise Glück
- Ruel Rahim as Fela Aníkúlápó Kuti
- Southern Market – Willow Room, 8 to 9 p.m.
- Beimnet Getahun as Hiwot Adilow
- Circumstantial Saint as Langston Hughes
- Dana Kinsey as Edna St. Vincent Millay
- Sean Poets as Andrea Gibson
- People & Things – Second floor, 9:15 to 10 p.m.
- Natalie Knox as Elizabeth Barrett Browning
- Sir Dominique Jordan as Muhammad Ali
- Starr Snyder as Jewel
- Ángel Rafael as Miguel Piñero
On Saturday, May 2, all performers will appear on stage at Zoetropolis Cinema Stillhouse at 7 p.m. The Zoetropolis event will also feature Shelby Wormley as India Arie. Tickets are available at zoetropolis.com.
The event is an initiative founded and directed by Lancaster City Poet Laureate Dana Kinsey.
