Rep. Smucker: ‘We need real reforms to lower premiums’

Democrats promised the ‘Affordable’ Care Act would lower costs, but the opposite has happened, the congressman said.

Smucker currently serves as vice chair of the House Committee on the Budget.

One bill changes the wording used by the Social Security Administration to inform seniors about their options.

The bill will strengthen and extend WOTC, which Smucker said has a proven track record of helping disadvantaged individuals secure employment.

“Democrats admitted to using the American people as political leverage,” Smucker lamented.

“Democrats are trying to mislead the American people by pretending this is about healthcare,” Smucker said.

The bill would encourage charitable donations for community-based apprenticeship initiatives and other educational opportunities.

The bills address child identity fraud, Social Security benefit clarity, and renewal of the Hospital at Home program.

The Congressman said he was “devastated and heartbroken by the senseless and horrific tragedy.”
