Lancaster City seeking nominations for Hispanic Community Achievement Award
LANCASTER, Pa., Aug. 26, 2025 – The city of Lancaster is seeking nominations from the community for an achievement award recognizing individuals who have made a significant impact on Lancaster’s Hispanic community. Award recipients will be honored at the city’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration on Oct. 4 in Ewell Plaza and Binns Park.
“Our Hispanic community continues to shape Lancaster in meaningful and inspiring ways. We welcome nominations of individuals whose efforts have helped our city grow stronger together,” Mayor Danene Sorace said.
Nominations will be accepted online at cityoflancasterpa.gov/hhm beginning Aug. 26 and will remain open through Sept. 19.
Hispanic Heritage Month, observed Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, is a national celebration of Hispanic Americans from Mexico, Central America, Spain, South America and the Spanish-speaking nations of the Caribbean, and their contributions to society and culture. The Oct. 4 festival will reflect the national celebration, with food vendors, entertainment, the achievement award ceremony and more.
