City man charged with dealing crack cocaine waives preliminary hearing

A city man charged with dealing crack cocaine following a monthslong Lancaster County Drug Task Force investigation will have his case proceed to county court after waiving his preliminary hearing earlier this month.

Michael Anthony Gray III, 35, waived his preliminary hearing before Judge Andrew LeFever on March 12 on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine – a felony offense – as well as possession of alprazolam and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Gray is accused of selling the cocaine as well as keeping a tranquilizer pill and other drug paraphernalia at his residence in the 600 block of East Chestnut Street.

Drug Task Force detectives began investigating Gray in September 2025, making multiple undercover purchases of crack cocaine from him using pre-recorded funds.

The Task Force, assisted by Homeland Security Investigations and the Bureau of Narcotic Investigations, executed a search warrant at Gray’s residence and his vehicle on Jan. 21, recovering a total of 36 grams of cocaine powder valued at $3,600, two handguns along with multiple magazines for both, an Alprazolam pill and drug paraphernalia. Gray was also arrested without incident during the execution of the warrant.

Gray is currently free on $50,000 unsecured bail.

Lancaster County Drug Task Force detectives filed the charges.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
